Add a retweet counter on your posts with Tweetmeme

Twitter is the best service I use daily to drive constantly a big amount of traffic on my blog. Retweets from my followers help me every time I write a new post to become popular on delicious and reach easily delicious home page.
Tweetmeme is a service which help you promote your blog by using the tweetmeme button, a simple and easy way you can integrate twitter into your blog and websites.
The result is a button like this:

If you want to add the tweetmeme button on your blogger template use this simple code:

<script type="text/javascript">
tweetmeme_url = '<data:post.url/>';
</script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://tweetmeme.com/i/scripts/button.js"> </script>

The only thing you have to change from the original code provides by Tweetmeme is set the var tweetmeme_url = <data:post/url>.
That's all! If you have some problem or suggestion please leave a comment. Thanks!

Where do you put the code to have the counter in every post like your blog?

Wayne Smallman said...

Hi Antonio, this isn't working for me.

I've tried the code example, and I've also added the alternate sample you provided below it.

I've even tried adding the permalink option from within WordPress itself and none work.

I love the fact that it allows you to add styling to the div in the WordPress settings panel. Very cool.

can you make it count each tweet instead of every 5? Or is there another tweet counter/re-tweet button that can be used?

Hi. I added the button to my site and it works. But there is a problem. It adds my blog title too. I've seen that in your blog, only the post title is added.

can u help me?

Thanks a lot for sharing this information. I tried searching on so many sites to put this retweet counter but your post worked for me. I was successful in putting this counter in 5 minutes.
Thanks again!

Any Ideas.

When I added the code for my blogger site, it puts the tweet icon for all the posts on my main page (8) in one line together rather than under each post.
